Upper School Awards & Achievements

Pine Crest Middle and Upper School digital media students recently returned from the 2026 Student Television Network (STN) Annual Convention in Tampa, Florida, where they competed among more than 3,700 of the nation’s top young broadcasters, filmmakers and content creators.

The STN Convention is known for its fast-paced, real-world challenges that push students to think creatively and perform under pressure. Throughout the event, Pine Crest students demonstrated collaboration, adaptability and innovation across a range of competitions and workshops.

One of the most demanding experiences was the “Crazy 8’s” challenge, where teams were given a single prompt and just eight hours to produce two full morning broadcasts and a short film. Students navigated tight deadlines, technical challenges and creative constraints while delivering polished final products.

In addition to competing, students participated in industry-led workshops, explored emerging media technologies and connected with college representatives and professionals in the field, gaining valuable insight into future academic and career pathways.

Competing at a national level, Pine Crest students earned multiple honors across both Middle and Upper School teams:

Middle School PCNN

  • Broadcast Excellence Award – Boca Raton (Team Award)
  • Broadcast Excellence Award – Fort Lauderdale (Team Award)
  • Honorable Mention, News Feature Story – Antonio Lins, Blake Slivka, Jacob Lam, Mason Shechter

Upper School PCTV

  • Broadcast Excellence Award (Team Award)
  • Crazy 8’s Short Film – STN Cine Fest Official Selection (Team Recognition)
  • Honorable Mention, Movie Trailer – Ava Olson, Claire Shamiss, Mason Reich, Mira Dhruva-Malmsten
  • Second Place, Vlog – Emma Llorente, Natasha Bodmer

The experience reinforced Pine Crest’s reputation as a leader in student media, as participants returned with new skills, creative energy and a deeper understanding of the industry.

Congratulations to all!
