Pine Crest Middle and Upper School students earned impressive results on the 2026 National Mythology Exams, demonstrating their knowledge of classical mythology and ancient cultures.

This spring, 14 Middle School students participated in the Pegasus National Mythology Exam, which is administered to students in grades 3–8 across the country.

Leading the way was Jack Ledwell ’32, who earned a perfect score and a Gold Medal. Nathaniel Brauser ’32 also earned a Gold Medal for his outstanding performance.

Additional Middle School honorees included:

  • Silver Medals: Yuval Dobzinski ’31 and Ayaan Mohanty ’31
  • Ribbons: Rowan Kalis ’32, Katherine Ledwell ’30 and Gabriel Graham ’31
  • Cum Laude Recognition: Owen Hamm ’32, Semen Smirnov ’32 and Demi Castillo ’32

In the Upper School, 15 students participated in the Medusa National Mythology Exam, which challenges high school students to demonstrate advanced knowledge of mythology, literature and classical civilizations.

The top Pine Crest performers were James Strong ’29 and Nina Alvarez Demalde ’29, who earned Magna Cum Laude recognition and ribbons for their achievement.

Additional Upper School honorees included:

  • Cum Laude Recognition: Daria Mamonova ’26, Alan Albanese ’26, William Moreno ’26 and Alex Armand-Blumberg ’27

The National Mythology Exams encourage students to explore the enduring stories, characters and themes that have shaped literature, art and culture for centuries.
