Awards & Achievements Middle School

Thirty-two (32) Pine Crest Middle School students recently participated in the STEM Inventor’s Challenge, competing against schools from across Palm Beach County and showcasing innovative engineering and design solutions through 18 student-led projects.

Students in the School’s 7/8 Competitive Engineering classes spent months applying the Engineering Design Process to develop creative responses to real-world challenges. Their projects included designing and 3D-printing original inventions as well as constructing modular boats engineered to hold as many pennies as possible.

Pine Crest students earned two major awards at the competition:

  • First Place – Penny Boat Challenge
Juan Yoshikay ’31 and Austin White ’31
  • Third Place – Invention Challenge
Catherine Tallman ’30 and Ariana Khatchikian ’30

The competition highlighted students’ creativity, collaboration and problem-solving skills while giving them the opportunity to present their ideas alongside peers from throughout the region.

Congratulations to all of our Middle School engineers!
