Pine Crest Students Named Top 50 in Future Wavemakers Challenge

Pine Crest Middle School students from the Boca Raton campus have been named among the Top 50 Future Wavemakers in the Future Wavemakers Challenge, a statewide competition focused on hands-on STEM learning, environmental awareness and youth entrepreneurship.

The program highlights student-led innovations that address real-world challenges while encouraging creative problem-solving and leadership.

Two Pine Crest teams earned recognition this year:

  • Alexander Awaida ’30, Wade Greaton ’30 and Alexander Gellin ’30
    Team Litter G – “Litter Grabber,” a personal waste collection device designed to promote environmental sustainability
     
  • Sasha Barack ’30, Max Hall ’30 and Tejas Gupta ’30
    Team Temasha P – “Cow Smart Collar,” a methane-collection device designed to support more sustainable cattle farming

Through this experience, students applied engineering and entrepreneurial thinking to develop solutions with real-world impact.
