Pine Crest Upper School student Jahsiah Bowie ’25 served as a Senate Page at the Florida State Capitol recently.

The Senate Page Program offers high school students the opportunity to learn about the legislative process in Florida through a hands-on approach to civic learning. Pages will role-play as Senators, develop ideas for new laws, draft legislation, and file bills.

Senate Pages also assist members of the Florida Senate by distributing legislative materials and correspondence in the Senate Chamber while observing the Senators as they discuss and debate legislation.

“I first heard about this opportunity while I was doing community service work with State Sen. Lauren Book,” said Jahsiah. “Politics have been a passion of mine for many years, so I was excited to interact with lawmakers and have hands-on experience in this field that I am passionate about.”

Congratulations, Jahsiah!
