Upper School Awards & Achievements


The Pine Crest Upper School yearbook, “The Crestian,” has been recognized with 10 awards from Quill and Scroll for the 2021-22 book, "It’s the Little Things."

Quill and Scroll International Honorary Society for High School Journalists encourages and recognizes individual student achievement in journalism and scholastic publication.

The Crestian staff earned second place in Blue and Gold Staff Excellence Award for Class B, which includes high schools with 999 students or fewer. This award goes to the yearbook staff in each class that earned the most points via its individual entries

The Crestian also earned nine individual awards as listed below:

  • First Place for News/Current Events Spread with "United as One: 20 Years After 9/11" - Bailey Watson ’22
  • First Place for Sports Feature Writing with "For the Love of the Sport" - Emma Gómez ’22, Avery Holzer ’24, Adam Shiff ’24, and Ally Lobis ’25
  • First Place for Student Life Writing with “It’s the Little Things" - Emma Gómez ’22
  • First Place for Clubs or Organizations Writing with "The Extended Show" - Avery Holzer ’24
  • Second Place for People Spread with "It’s the Little Things" - Emma Gómez ’22 
  • Second Place for News/Current Events Writing with "Russia Invades Ukraine" - Emma Gómez ’22 and Grace Hancock ’22
  • Third Place for "Theme Development” - Julia Aronberg ’22, Emma Gómez ’22, Bailey Watson ’22, Grace Hancock ’22, and Ayesha Minhas ’22
  • Third Place for Alternative Story Form with "What Matters in the World of Student Publications" - Julia Aronberg ’22
  • Third Place for “Headline Writing” for their "Scandal Heats Up the Ice" - Grace Hancock ’22, Ayesha Minhas ’22, and Isabella Neville ’23
