Upper School Awards & Achievements


Fifty-five (55) Pine Crest Upper School DECA club members competed at the DECA State Career Development Conference recently. The students qualified for the State Conference by placing in the top 16 at the Broward County District Competition. 

The following students qualified for DECA’s international competition, which will be held from April 23 to 26, 2022 in Atlanta, GA, by placing in the top seven in their categories:

Jason Berinstein ’24 - Accounting Applications Series - sixth place
Kyla Truong ’23 - Business Finance Series - fifth place
Lara Jones ’22 - Business Finance Series - seventh place
Danielle Keyes ’24 - Apparel Accessories and Marketing Series - fourth place
Miraa Shukla ’23 - Apparel Accessories and Marketing Series - sixth place
Matthew Amunategui ’24 and Jayden Engelhardt ’23 - Hotel and Tourism Team Decision Making - fourth place

DECA is an international association of high school and college students, professionals, and teachers of marketing, finance, hospitality, and management whose mission is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in those fields.
