Nov 27 - Nov 29
Three Pine Crest Upper School student musicians have been selected to participate in the New World Symphony (NWS) Side-by-Side Ensemble, an advanced orchestral training experience that connects talented young instrumentalists with professional musicians from America’s Orchestral Academy. Pine Crest is pleased to continue its multi-year partnership with NWS.
Through the program, students receive one-on-one mentoring from NWS Fellows and participate in sectionals, rehearsals and a culminating Side-by-Side Concert on April 25, 2026. Participants also have the option to audition for the Concerto Competition, with the winner performing as a featured soloist during the concert.
Congratulations to:
Clara Thomas ’26 – Violin (third year participating)
Cecilia Thomas ’28 – Violin (first year participating)
Roshan Mohip ’28 – Cello (second year participating)
The New World Symphony, led by Artistic Director Stéphane Denève, prepares exceptional young musicians for professional orchestral careers through fellowships and advanced performance training. Since its founding in 1987 by Michael Tilson Thomas and Lin and Ted Arison, the program has helped launch the careers of more than 1,300 alumni who now perform and lead in orchestras and arts organizations around the world.
Congratulations to Clara, Cecilia and Roshan!
