Pine Crest Upper School student Ruby Kilpatrick ’25 won first place in the 2024 Congressional Artistic Discovery Art Competition for high school students in Florida's 23rd district.

The competition is an annual contest sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives in which every congressional district selects a winning piece of artwork from a local high school student.

Ruby’s work, “Standout,” will hang in the United States Capitol Building for one year. “This is one of the highest honors art students can achieve,” said Mr. Nino Liguori, Upper School Art Instructor.

In addition to Ruby’s recognition, Zoe Varo-Haub ’25 earned second place, Jessica Horvitz ’25 earned third place, and Leah Walters ’24 earned an Honorable Mention.

Congratulations to all!
