Junior Thespian Troupes Compete at District Festivals
December 19th 2019
Pine Crest Middle School junior thespian troupes will advance to compete at the state junior thespian festival.
The troupe from the Boca Raton campus competed in the Palm Beach County district festival, earning three superior and 62 excellent ratings.
The troupe from the Fort Lauderdale campus competed in the Broward County district festival where they earned 12 superior and 24 excellent ratings, as well as one Honorable Mention.
In addition, the troupe secured two Critics’ Choice Best in Show Awards, a rare achievement, and a School record!
Natasha Bodmer ’26 and Donovan Gerrits ’25 received a Critic’s Choice Best in Show for Improvisation. The team of Peter Gratwick ’24, Miel Hemeon ’24, Isabel Moreno ’26, and Brody Wehr ’25 received the Critics’ Choice Best in Show for Ensemble Acting. Their piece, Regina Flector Wins the Science Fair, was performed on the Main Stage at the Closing Ceremonies.
The troupes will compete at the state festival in Orlando, Florida this spring.
