Pine Crest Upper School Ensembles Earn Straight Superior Ratings at District MPAs

Pine Crest student musicians in the band, chorus and orchestra programs delivered an outstanding performance at the District Music Performance Assessment (MPA), earning Straight Superior ratings from all four state-sanctioned judges.
The ensembles received the highest possible marks across the board, reflecting months of dedication, preparation and musical excellence. “For all three Upper School musical ensembles to receive perfect scores of Superior, is incredibly rare,” said Mr. Larry Mellone ’24H, Director of Fine Arts. “I am incredibly proud of these student-musicians and their directors.”
The Superior sweep represents a significant achievement for the program and highlights the commitment and artistry of the students involved.
As a result of these top-tier scores, the ensembles advance to their respective state MPA, which will take place in April. The state-level event brings together the highest-performing ensembles from across Florida and offers students the opportunity to showcase their musical talent on a larger stage.
