Pine Crest Upper School Hosts Annual Poetry Out Loud Competition

Thirty (30) Upper School students participated in Pine Crest School’s annual Poetry Out Loud competition, a celebration of spoken word and literary performance.

As part of the national Poetry Out Loud program, each student selected a poem from the official collection, then memorized and performed it before an audience and panel of judges. The event is designed to help students develop public speaking skills while deepening their appreciation for poetry’s language, structure and power.

This year’s Poetry Out Loud champion was Ulyana Sharapova ’26, who will go on to represent Pine Crest at the Florida State Finals. Isabella Moreno ’26 earned second place and Maddie Hayes ’27 was named third place winner.

The evening brought together a community of student performers and poetry enthusiasts in a shared celebration of voice, interpretation and creative expression.

Congratulations and best of luck to Ulyana as she advances to the state competition!
