Pine Crest Upper School student Talia Mandel ’23 has been selected as a candidate for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964 to recognize and honor some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. Application to the Program is by invitation only and is typically based on ACT or SAT score. Talia earned a 36 on her ACT, which is the highest score possible.

In late March, approximately 500 semifinalists will be chosen by an independent, national committee of educators convened by the Commission on Presidential Scholars. Between six and 20 semifinalists will be identified per state, based on a proportionate number of test takers for that state. In April, the Commission on Presidential Scholars will make the final selection of 121 Presidential Scholars, one of the nation's highest honors for high school students.

Congratulations, and good luck, Talia!
