Forty (40) Pine Crest Upper School and 21 Middle School students took the National Mythology Exam recently.


There are two national exams, the Pegasus Mythology Exam, which is intended for students in grades three through eight, and the Medusa Mythology Exam, which is intended for students in grades nine through 12. The exams allow students worldwide to demonstrate their enthusiasm and excellence in the field of Greco-Roman mythology. 


Upper School students from the Mythology club and Post-AP Mythology class took the National Medusa Mythology Exam in late April. Daniel Wilentz ’23 and Edward Zhang ’25 earned silver medals and Maxima Cum Laude recognition. Six (6) students earned Magna Cum Laude recognition: Sam Brown ’23, Ryan Nowatski ’23, Liam Riesz ’23, Micah Bernstein ’23, Charles Gordon ’25, and Jaret Rozanski ’23. The following five students earned Cum Laude recognition:  Sydney Krusch ’23, Arthur Costa ’23, Sabrina Shibao ’23, Jonathan Fromkin ’23, and Jack Gabrielle ’23.

Middle School students took the National Pegasus Mythology Exam in March. Jackson Barideaux ’28 and Alex Bogatov ’28 earned gold medals. Nina Alvarez Demalde ’29, James Strong ’29, and Zoe Lolis ’28 earned silver medals. Three (3) Middle School students earned Magna Cum Laude: Aviv Dobzinski ’28, Kaitlyn Weatherall ’28, and Sonia Shah ’28. Eight (8) Middle School students earned Cum Laude recognition: Sachin Grover ’29, Jesse Xiao ’29, Aaron Tischler ’29, Samuel Bludworth-McNeill ’29, Rafael Kazazian ’28, Harrison Hodes ’27, Luke Anderson ’27, and Isaac Pack ’27.
