PCDC is located in northeast Ft. Lauderdale on the expansive campus of Pine Crest Preparatory School. The campus spans 49 manicured, gated, and landscaped acres, and includes 3 swimming pools, 2 football fields, softball and baseball diamonds, professional batting cages, soccer, sports, and lacrosse fields, 2 gymnasiums, a man-made lake, waterslides, one 900-seat auditorium and two smaller auditoriums, and the exciting PCDC Zipline. It is here on our own campus that all of our activities take place.
FOR AGES 5-12
Our youngest campers must be a full 5-years-old when they begin camp at PCDC, and must submit a copy of their birth certificate or passport when enrolling. PCDC accepts campers up to and including 12-years-olds. Children may not be older than twelve at the time they begin camp.
FOR AGE 13
Our CAMPER-IN-SERVICE (CIS) program is a half-camper and half pre-counselor program that has been designed exclusively for THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLDS. Throughout the summer, Campers-In-Service have the opportunity to gain a little camp-counseling experience, but still have the opportunity to enjoy some of the benefits of being an older camper. Members of this small group spend most of their time helping to supervise campers in their daily activities, dispensing our morning and afternoon snacks, and delivering messages. When CISs are not "working", they are participating in some of the exciting activities here on our campus. Once a week our CIS group enjoys an off-campus field trip to various destinations, such as laser tag, Boomers, the Rapids Waterpark, and the movies. To be part of this program, you must be THIRTEEN by June 12, 2017. This program requires an application and interview process. We accept approximately 15 people to join this program each summer and the cost is $2000 for the whole summer, bus transportation included. If you’d like to know more information about this program, please call our camp office.
HOURS 9:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Pine Crest Day Camp operates Mondays through Fridays. In the morning our buses arrive (or parents’ drop-off) between 9:15 AM and 9:30 a.m. At the end of the day cars and buses load for home beginning at 3:15 p.m. Our Extended Day program (babysitting before and after regular camp hours) accepts campers as early as 7:30 a.m. and will supervise them as late as 5:30 p.m.
Children are assigned to groups or "cabins" according to the grade that they are entering school in September. Boys are placed in all-boy cabins and girls are placed in all-girl cabins. Our youngest age group (K) will have approximately 10 to 15 children assigned with a staff of three or four members. Children who are entering grades 1-7 will have approximately 15-25 youngsters assigned per cabin and will be supervised by three staff members.
Our Registered Nurse and assistants are on duty during the regular camp day. All are stationed in our professionally-equipped Infirmary. All camper's medications are kept and dispensed from this one-and-only location. Questions and concerns can be directed to: 954-492-4131.
