Pine Crest School Girls’ Cross Country Team Competes at NXR

The Pine Crest School girls’ cross country team competed at the Nike Cross Regional Southeast (NXR) meet recently.
The meet is a qualifying event in which the top runners advance to compete at the Nike Cross Country Nationals (NXN).

Coming off of the heels of their state championship meet, where the team earned state runner-up, the team competed as a club team at the NXR meet, a qualifying event in which the top runners advance to compete at NXN.

As a team, the girls’ finished 11th out of 27 teams and a field of 251 runners from 11 states and Washington, D.C.

Tsion Yared ’20 finished second as the region runner-up with a time of 17:44.7, qualifying her for the NXN in Portland, Oregon on December 1, 2018.

Emily Faulhaber ’20 finished 18th, Maya Beleznay ’20 finished 58th, Cassie Lawlor ’19 finished 117th, and Amanda Schwartz ’20 finished 178th.
