Musical opportunities abound at all grade levels and in all sizes of ensembles.

Pine Crest students in grades pre-kindergarten through five participate in a general music class where they learn a variety of musical skills and concepts such as melody, harmony, rhythm, form, expression, texture, and timbre. Students learn these skills through movement, reading, singing, and playing instruments. General music students participate in school shows, such as Kindergarten Fall Fun Day and monthly Community Building Assemblies.

Band is offered to students in grades four through eight. Instruments within the band include flute, clarinet, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, and percussion. Beginning in Middle School and carrying throughout Upper School, musicians have an opportunity to participate in jazz ensembles. During the Upper School musical each year, a number of Pine Crest students play in the pit band in place of or alongside professional musicians.

Opportunities to participate in chorus are offered to students in grades two through twelve. Audition-based choral opportunities are offered to students in grades two and three, four and five, Middle School, and Upper School. Through chorus participation, students learn vocal technique, music reading, tone production, breath control, and other musical elements. Chorus members learn literature in a variety of languages and participate in performances and shows throughout the year, including a full-production musical.

Orchestra is offered to students in grades pre-kindergarten through twelve. Instruments within the orchestra include violin, viola, cello, and bass. Pine Crest School orchestra students have several opportunities to perform throughout the year, including concerts, events, and district, regional, and state competitions. As students advance through Middle and Upper School, they have opportunities to audition for honors ensembles in addition to performing and practicing with large-group ensembles.

Piano instruction is offered for students in pre-kindergarten through grade twelve. Through piano lessons, students learn warm-ups, technical exercises, music theory, and repertoire, and they have the opportunity to perform at recitals and other school functions throughout the year. Beginning in Middle School, pianist may choose to audition for the concert or jazz bands to expand their repertoire and performance experience.
