Pine Crest Upper School Students to Compete at We the People State Competition

Pine Crest Upper School students prepared to compete at the state level of the We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution program recently.
Students had the opportunity to prepare arguments and be judged by Judge Robin Rosenbaum ’84 of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and, Whitney Walters-Sachs ’92, General Counsel for Pine Crest School.

We the People is a simulated congressional hearing in which students serve as experts on one of six specific areas of knowledge regarding American government: historical and philosophical foundations of government, the formation of the Constitution, the evolution of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, institutions of American government, civil rights and liberties, and 21st century challenges to constitutional democracy.

Students will compete at the state level on February 1, 2019 in Orlando, and have the opportunity to advance to the national level competition in Washington, D.C. for the third consecutive year.
