All four Middle School robotics teams competed at the tournament, which hosted 25 teams from across Broward and Palm Beach Counties. The Cyborgs received two bids to the state competition in March, and one bid to the national CREATE tournament
in Louisville, Kentucky. The team came in first place for the robotics Teamwork Challenge and first place for their science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) research project and presentation.
Teams were challenged to learn about the exciting world of math and discover how it can be used to find solutions to real-world problems that surround us. The Cyborgs designed an online math game that they coded in Scratch
to motivate students that have difficulty mastering math concepts. Each time a player successfully solves a math algorithm, the app recognizes it and celebrates the player's accomplishment.
