Pine Crest Middle School Track and Field Athlete Earns State Championship

Nine (9) Pine Crest Middle School student-athletes competed at the Florida Youth Running Association (FLYRA) Middle School Track and Field State Championship meet recently.
Lilly McCarthy ’23 won the inaugural state championship title in the javelin.
Kirra Reid ’23 also placed in the javelin event, earning the seventh best throw in the state.
For the boys’ javelin, Shail Khakhria ’23 finished 13th, and Peter Gailitis ’23 finished 14th.
The team’s three girls’ triple jumpers were led by Alexandra Azout ’23, who finished 17th, followed by Charlotte Theis ’25 in 18th and Mikaela Stefanov ’25 in 19th place.
The girls 4x800 meter relay team of Lilly McCarthy ’23, Ava DeFrancesco ’23, Kirra Reid ’23, and Lila Feeley ’25 placed 32nd.
