Pine Crest School Track Athletes Earn State Championship Titles

The Pine Crest School track and field teams competed at the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) State Championship meet recently.
Tsion Yared ’20 won back-to-back state championship titles in the 3200-meter race and helped lead the girls’ 4x800 meter relay team with Amanda Schwartz ’20, Sierra Stocker ’21, and Emily Faulhaber ’20 to their first ever state title.
 
Tsion also placed state runner-up for the second year in a row in the 1600-meter race.
 
Emily Faulhaber placed third in the 3200-meter race and fourth in the 1600-meter race. The boys’ 4x800 meter relay team earned All-State honors as they finished in sixth place. Pine Crest student-athletes earned 12 All-State honors.
 
The girls’ team finished fourth for the second year in a row for their seventh consecutive top ten finish. The boys’ team, with only two scoring opportunities, tied 43 out of 52 scoring teams.
