Pine Crest School Lacrosse Teams Earn District Championship Titles

Pine Crest School boys’ and girls’ lacrosse teams earned district championship titles at their respective Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) district championship tournaments recently.
The boys’ team earned the title after victories against rivals Cardinal Gibbons (15-1) and Calvary Christian (14-9). This was the sixth district title for the boys’ program and their first since 2014. The team advanced to the regional quarterfinal where they fell to St. Thomas Aquinas 19-7.

The girls’ team earned their district title after also defeating Cardinal Gibbons 22-6. This is the girls’ 14th district championship in the last 15 seasons and their fifth consecutive. The girls’ went on to face Marjory Stoneman Douglas in the regional quarterfinal, winning by a score of 12 -9. The team advanced to the regional semifinal against American Heritage, Delray Beach, the #1 team in the nation at the time, and did not advance after a tough 19-2 loss.

Congratulations to both teams for an excellent season!
