Pine Crest Upper School Social Science Teacher, Trish Everett, has been selected to serve as a member of the iCivics Educator Network and National Constitution Center Teacher Advisory Board.

Mrs. Everett currently teaches U.S. Government and Politics AP, Political Science Post AP, and Psychology AP.

I firmly believe that history is made by those who show up, and I delight in helping my students find the best ways that they can show up and make change in their own world

Mrs. Everett.

Supreme Court Justice Sandra O’Connor founded iCivics in 2009 with the goal of transforming civic education for every student in America with innovative, engaging games, and resources. The iCivics Educator Network is a select group of 150 educators from 40 states who collaborate to beta test new games, offer content feedback, and use social media to bring fun, approachable resources to as wide an audience as possible. Network members are selected after an application process and serve for one calendar year, with a possibility to serve multiple years.

The National Constitution Center serves as a platform for constitutional education and debate, fulfilling its Congressional charter “to disseminate information about the U.S. Constitution on a nonpartisan basis.” The Advisory Board launched in 2018 to support the Center’s education team in development and evaluation of the materials on the Interactive Constitution: Classroom Edition, as well as presenting content created to support students using the National Constitution Center’s free, online Interactive Constitution. Board members are invited based on past work with the Center, and can serve for multiple years.

In addition, Mrs. Everett is included in a chapter on effective civic educators in the newly released book, "Vote for US.”

Congratulations, Mrs. Everett!
