A native of Fort Lauderdale and career educator, Dr. Dana Markham has been an integral part of the Pine Crest School community for more than two decades - serving as a pre-kindergarten teacher, assistant head of Lower and Middle School, Head of Middle School, Vice President of Academics, and now President since her inauguration in December 2011.

Dr. Markham is a true visionary, leading the development of Pine Crest's current five-year strategic plan and involving more than 100 of our teachers on the planning team. This was the first time in our School's 80-year history that the people who spend the most time with our students - except for their parents, of course - were invited to contribute to our school's strategic plan.
The 2014-19 Strategic Plan has come to life as seen inside our classrooms and in our graduates. Dr. Markham oversaw the design and development of three innovation labs - not in three years - but in three months over the summer in time for the opening of school in August. Student innovators are thriving in the Zimmerman Family iLabs on our Fort Lauderdale campus and Mintz Family iLab on our Boca Raton campus.
An advocate for safety and security, Dr. Markham is well-known for doing what is best for students. She currently serves as President of the Florida Council of Independent Schools and represents Pine Crest School at National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and Independent Schools of Maximum Complexity (INMAX) national conferences and meetings.

Dr. Markham is a proud parent of four Pine Crest alumni and a grandparent to two current Pine Crest Panthers.
