Boys Varsity Tennis team wins State Championship

After victories in the District and Regional Tournaments, the PC’s Boys team travelled to Orlando to compete for the State championship against seven other teams that had earned a spot in the finals. At the end of the elimination process, all PC’s singles players (Roy Lederman, Blaine Willenborg, Carlos de Bracamonte, Isaac Thylen and Josh Schneirov) had advanced to the final round. The championship was clinched with a straight-set victory by the PC’s doubles team of Isaac Thylen and Blaine Willenborg over their Gulliver Prep opponents. Solid play by Co-captain Alex Jaffe and eighth-grader Elliot Seckler during Districts and Regionals contributed to the team’s success.
Earlier this month the Pine Crest Boys Varsity team had finished third in the National High School Team Championship played in Louisville, Kentucky.
