The gallery opening of Pine Crest students' juried art show "Off the Grid" took place on Saturday, February 1 at the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood. The exhibit ran through February 23.

Physics Students Add to Astronomical Database as Part of NSF Pilot
Pine Crest Upper School students in AP Physics B are piloting a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded program through the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics called the "Laboratory for the Study of Exoplanets," or “ExoLab.” ?The project is being used as an extension of the class' unit on light and the electromagnetic spectrum. 

Upper School Students Help Lower School Celebrate Pi Day
On March 14, the Lower School Students on the Fort Lauderdale Campus participated in various Pi Day related activities coordinated by the Upper School Math Club and Lower School Family Association.

Pine Crest Diver Selected to USA Diving's Junior Elite Squad
Kevin Mendez, a Pine Crest School fourth grader who is a member of the Pine Crest Diving Club, was selected to USA Diving’s Junior Elite Squad (JES) in February.

Girls Track Three-time District Champs
Congratulations to the girls track team for winning the District Championship for the 3rd year in a row!  Going into the 3200m, the girls were down to the last year's 3A State Runner-Up, Hallandale, by 11.25 points, but a 1-2-3-4 sweep (29 points) by Tsion Yared, Julia Montgomery, Katherine Jovanovic and Mahlet Yared sealed the deal.  The girls finished with 147.75 points to win the Championship by 11.75 points as Hallandale finished with 136 points.

Boca Orchestra Student Performs on NPR's "From the Top"
Nicholas Abrahams, an 8th grade violinist, performed with Christopher O'Reilly at The New World Center.  "From the Top" features talented young musicians from around the country.

PCFL Admin Go "Wild" with an 80s Auction Rap
Let's take it back to the 80s! In support of the PCFL Auction on March 15, four of our administrators came together to sing a PC video parody of the song "Wild Thing"  by Tone Loc. From the boom box to the colored glasses to the "bling," Dr. Markham, Mr. Clark, Mr. Walters, and Mrs. Shealy put on a performance that you will not want to miss! You will go "Wild" when you see their performance!

Pine Crest Fund Volunteers Treated to an Ice Cream Social
More than 30 Boca Raton Pine Crest Fund volunteers and their children gathered for a special Ice Cream Social on February 6 in the Bernstein Family Commons Room.
