Miguel spoke about how to be a good intern in a television newsroom and what he looks for when hiring. He then answered questions from the students about the news industry.

Pine Crest Students Take Part in the Hour of Code

Pine Crest students in Lower, Middle, and Upper School took part in the Hour of Code last week. The Hour of Code is part of a global movement to introduce people to computer science, demystify code, and show that anyone can learn the basics. Pine Crest's event provided unique and engaging opportunities for faculty and students to collaborate and try new strategies to learn about coding.

Fifth Graders Tackle Toothpick Bridge Building Project

Fifth graders on Pine Crest's Fort Lauderdale campus recently competed in an exhilarating bridge building project where they worked in teams to design a bridge that would hold the most weight. The catch? The bridge must have been constructed with toothpicks!

In historic fashion the Boys and Girls Varsity Cross Country teams both finished as State Runner-Up at the State Championships that were held in Tallahassee on November 15!  




Austin Fields Wins Second Repeat FHSAA 1-meter Diving State Championship title

Austin defeated runner up Robbie Costine, Frostproof  senior,  by 10.9 points in a closely contested championship event.  Austin finished with 490.45 points, a 24 point improvement from his last year’s  winning point total.

Twenty Pine Crest Middle School Students Inducted as ITS Members

Twenty (20) Pine Crest Boca Raton Middle School students were inducted as new members of the International Thespian Society (ITS) Troupe 88585 during the Classic Desserts Performance Friday January 23. ITS is an honorary group for middle and high school theater students and is a division of the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA). 

Thirty-Seven Students Represent Pine Crest at Florida All-State

Thirty-seven (37) Lower, Middle, and Upper School students represented Pine Crest School at the Florida Music Educators Association Conference from January 14 to 17 in Tampa. To qualify, students were tested on music theory, sight reading, and quality of performance.

Boca Lower School Art Displayed in Art Show

Artwork from 20 Lower School students' was selected for "Art in Public Places."  The artwork will be on display during the month of February at the Boca Raton Community Center.

Momentum Heats Up for The Pine Crest Fund!

Volunteers for The Pine Crest Fund brought in the new year with extremely informative meetings on both campuses thanks to David Kirschner, Trustee, Chair of the Finance Committee and Pine Crest parent, who spoke of the financial impact of The Pine Crest Fund on our students and our School from his respective viewpoints.
