Dear Pine Crest School Panther Fans,

Athletics has a long-standing tradition of success at Pine Crest School. As educators, we believe that physical education, developmental and competitive sports, and the arts complement academics and character building. We refer to our players as "student-athletes," as academics is the priority at Pine Crest. Our student-athletes must demonstrate their success in the classroom above all. From the very beginning, our student-athletes are reminded that they represent Pine Crest in everything they do - they must always conduct themselves with class, dignity, and good character.

Our coaches are members of two professional development organizations: the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) and the Positive Coaching Alliance.  Our coaches receive specialized training in a positive, developmental approach with safety and injury prevention as the utmost priority. Coaches improve upon our craft in the profession by attending conferences and clinics periodically throughout the year. Coaches and student-athletes have access to a fully-staffed, fully-equipped training room and weight room. Our facilities and equipment are sound and safe, and we all follow a very strict concussion protocol should any student-athlete experience a high-impact incident.

It goes without saying that we want to be competitive! The 2015-16 season was the Panther's best year to date, earning more Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) trophies than any year before. This year's teams had 2 state runners-up, 3 region champions, 5 region runners-up, 12 district champions, and 4 district runners-up. Our entire community rallied around our student-athletes, whether cheering on the sidelines and stands, covering games for PCTV Sports Broadcasting, playing in the pep band, traveling hundreds of miles to watch championship games, or wearing green and white on spirit days.

Some of our student-athletes commit to playing their sport at the collegiate level, and some even advance to play professionally. Regardless, our alumni agree that the lessons learned on the fields, courts, track, and in the water translate to life skills that have benefited them well beyond Pine Crest.
