Each year, a panel of judges selects the finest band, chorus, and orchestra students from the state of Florida through a series of tests and auditions. These musicians are then designated "All-State," and they travel to Tampa in January for a series of rehearsals, recordings, and concerts.
Walk into a first grade classroom at Pine Crest School, and you may see Mrs. Ashleigh Cicconi holding a guitar and hear her asking students to raise their hands and announce a noun, a verb, and an adjective when called upon. Like an in-person Mad Libs® exercise, Mrs. Cicconi then adds the students’ words to a song and sings it while playing her guitar.
