Welcome

Congratulations Class of 2008!

Most of them were born in 1990, the same year that South Africa’s Nelson Mandela was released from prison, Iraq invaded Kuwait, the Hubble space telescope launched and the Worldwide Web was invented. So, it’s no surprise that this year’s graduating class is comprised of doers--many of them already making names for themselves with community service projects, science research feats, published mathematical inferences and there’s even a pageant winner and a few sports’ heroes. Our list of graduates can be found on the following page.

Honk! Entertains

Audiences were treated to the Middle School's "egg"cellent production of "Honk!" last Friday. This delightful musical,  based on the classic "Ugly Duckling" tale, teaches powerful messages of family and tolerance. The chirpy music and "fowl" jokes were a treat for all ages.

Fifth-Grade Green Team Machine Gains Steam

The fifth-grade Green Team has done a great job of moving the campus into a more environmentally-friendly zone, the result of months of research, strategizing and implementing a number of programs. On Thursday, a month’s worth of plastic bottles were picked up from "Mt. Trashmore" and hauled away to be recycled into fabric for Valley Forge, the eco-conscience company owned by the Dobin (Kauppinen) family, manufacturers of hotel textiles. As a result of the project, many students and their families are no longer using disposable bottles.

Statistics Project

"What's it like to be a 'big kid'?" Inquiring fourth-grade minds want to know.

With the help of Mrs. Ross and Mrs. Venne's AP Statistics class, the fourth graders created a survey that asked their most pressing questions, "How many hours do you spend on homework? How old were you when you had your first kiss? Do you still like to read? How many car crashes have you been in already? Have you ever adopted a dog from a shelter? How old were you when you got your first cell phone?" and 126 others. Using Zoomerang, an internet survey tool, the Statistics students took time to seriously answer every question. Read more...
