Daniella Day
It took hundreds of tiles and scores of hours to create the mosaic. But on April 15, the tiled mammal was mounted proudly as a tribute to Daniella Folleco, who passed away this past summer. Daniella’s family and friends came together for a ceremony to honor the middle-school student who loved orcas and could make everyone smile. Students participated in a field day in their friend’s honor. Watch photoshow

Honoring Earth Day, Plastic Bottles Needed
Don’t throw away that plastic bottle, recycle it! Diana Dobin Kauppinen and her brother Michael Dobin of Valley Forge Fabrics, Inc. showed Lower School students the benefits of recycling. Their company recycles plastics into fabric. The Dobin Family came to Pine Crest to take part in Earth Day activities. Jake and Caleb Kauppinen helped their mom and uncle with demonstrations. The assembly transitioned nicely into the fifth-grade Green Team’s master plan to take Pine Crest green. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to save their empty plastic bottles and put them into garbage bags for the Green Team to collect.

Tennis Districts
Picture yourself in agony, with the feeling of pain all over your body, the sun burning the back of your neck, and the sweat dripping down your face; yes, you are in the midst of the tennis districts. PC Tennis Districts are three days worth of tough, lengthy, and tiresome tennis matches. Fortunately, for the first time, two teams this year get to advance into regionals from districts.
