Founded in 2004, Breakthrough Fort Lauderdale is a six-year, year-round, academically intense, study skills based enrichment program that works with middle school students until they graduate and head to college. We are a tuition-free institute that provides middle school students with challenging classes and enriching activities while training talented high school and college students for careers in education. We are part of a national movement created to help end the educational gap in America. Breakthrough Fort Lauderdale offers diversity, community, spirit, academic excellence, and an energetic commitment to learning.

The Students We Serve
  • Student who are 6th graders and are motivated students and passionate learners
  • Students who score in the 70th to 90th percentile on standardized testing and earn grades ranging from A's to C's
  • Students who demonstrate maturity, good behavior, and outstanding personality
  • Students who are COLLEGE BOUND
The Schools We Serve
  • Broward County Public Schools: Margate, Dandy, Sunrise, and Rickards Middle Schools
The Program We Provide
  • Students take four core classes (Math, Language Arts, Science, History) and one elective for the six-week summer session. Class times are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Summer classes are held at Pine Crest School. Transportation, lunch, and all field trips will be provided by Breakthrough.
  • During the school year, students will be tutored and taught by brilliant college and high school students who will come to each school.
  • We provide assistance for applying to the top high schools in America.
  • While in high school, we will prepare you for college with college trips, tutorials, internships, college prep classes, access to other college bound programs, SAT prep, college applications, and any other service that would be pertinent.
