Technology is important at Pine Crest School because preparing students for the future is a critical aspect of our mission, and technology is both critical and inevitable as part of their future. Pine Crest is not a technology school but is one that embraces technology as a significant learning tool.
The Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton campuses have integrated technology into the curriculum at all levels. Students and faculty work together with educational technologists to implement technology in successful ways. Laptops are required in Grades 6-8 on the Boca Raton campus and in Grades 6 - 12 on the Fort Lauderdale campus. Wireless access to the school network allows students and faculty to work in an atmosphere of "anywhere, anytime" learning. In each lower school classroom, there are six student computers and a teacher computer. All computers access the library catalogs and the online databases, as well as age and grade-appropriate educational software.
Both campuses have fully functioning, live broadcast television studios. Students are able to explore the complete process of video production. Pine Crest Television produces live news shows containing campus news, information, and entertainment.
Technology is everywhere at Pine Crest - as a significant educational tool, as an invisible aspect of our daily work, and as one of the important ways we prepare our students for the future.
