The Pine Crest Middle School serves as a bridge between the Lower School and Upper School. Teaching methodologies are appropriate for the middle school age child and reflect their ability, interests, and developmental level. A strong academic emphasis with high expectations in middle school serves to prepare the students for their high school studies.

Core courses in English, math, social studies, science, and French or Spanish meet five days a week for 45 minutes per class. Accelerated courses are offered in math and Spanish. A variety of enrichment offerings complete a student's daily schedule.

Pine Crest School is known for its advanced use of technology. Beginning in sixth grade, students use their wireless personal laptop computers as an integral part of the curriculum. Students become proficient in keyboarding, utilization of word documents, spreadsheets, power point, and web searches through their classwork. Students are actively involved with technology on a daily basis.

In addition to a strong academic program, Pine Crest School emphasizes fine arts and athletics. Students have an opportunity to participate in a variety of team sports, and fine arts programs that include band, orchestra, chorus, drama, art, and dance.

Recognizing the uniqueness of middle school students, both campuses have new purpose-built classrooms that facilitate the use of technology, as well as multidisciplinary and traditional teaching methods.

Character building is stressed through an Honor Code, assemblies, course content, and small group advisory meetings with members of a warm and caring faculty.

Faculty, guidance counselors, and administrators take an active interest in their students' education. Extra help sessions are offered, and both students and parents will find that faculty and administrators are easily accessible.
