The Class of 2007 includes twenty-eight National Merit Finalists, one National Achievement Scholars, and one Presidential Scholar Semi-Finalist. One hundred percent of this class will go on to attend four-year colleges. Pine Crest offers students the opportunity to enroll in a broad, rigorous academic curriculum that prepares them for collegiate study. With honors courses across the curriculum, thirty Advanced Placement courses are also offered. The class SAT average Critial Reading score is 652. The class average for the SAT Math is 645. The class average for the SAT Writing is 652. Colleges enrolling twenty or more students during the past five years are: Boston University, Emory, Florida State University, Harvard, Northwestern, the University of Florida, the University of Miami, and the University of Pennsylvania.

Seven college counselors, many of whom have had experience in college admission on the university level, advise our students. The College Counseling program at Pine Crest strives to match students with the college or university that is most suited to their interests and goals. Parents and students in the Upper School have direct access to a full array of information regarding the college admission process through mailings from the College Counseling Office, large scale and individually scheduled meetings, and login capabilities to Pine Crest School college counseling software.

The SAT I is a test of developed mathematics and verbal reasoning skills used the in the admission process to colleges and universities in the United States. Scores for each test range from 200 to 800, for a maximum total of 2400.

The mean (arithmetic average) score on this test for the Class of 2008 was a critical reading index of 651, a math index of 649, and a writing index of 661 for a total mean score of 1961.
The Advanced Placement (AP) program sponsored by the College Board serves outstanding students who wish to study college-level courses while in high school. Pine Crest faculty members teach 30 formal AP courses, some with multiple class sections. Most of the courses at Pine Crest meet in a college format of double class periods on alternate days. The highest possible score on an AP exam is 5. Most universities accept scores of 3, 4, and 5 for credit or advanced standing.

In May of 2008, Pine Crest students took 1,368 Advanced Placement examinations. Seventy-six percent earned scores of 3 or higher.
