From the President

Pine Crest School embraces a heritage of family and family values. Every student, parent, and faculty member shares an intangible tie to Pine Crest, and that sense of connection within our school community is our strongest and dearest tradition.

Our founder Dr. Mae McMillan established Pine Crest in 1934 with an educational vision to encourage academic achievement, athletic accomplishments, and cultural appreciation.

I have been part of the Pine Crest family for more than 23 years, as a teacher, parent, administrator, and now the school's President. Over those years I have watched the school grow academically, athletically, and culturally. I have watched and worked with generations of parents and their children, many starting out as exuberant four year olds who leave us as confident, college-bound young adults. Pine Crest is fortunate to be among the few large independent schools that continue to set academic standards. We offer student-centered classroom instruction, SAT prep courses, and measurable benchmarks.

We hope you will find time to meet our accomplished faculty and visit the nurturing and thoughtful learning environments on our Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale campuses. Whether in our classrooms, on our stages, or on our fields, each of our 2,700 students has the support of an outstanding faculty who have taught here for decades. And over those decades, our faculty and families have worked with generations of students who generously support the school and return for their reunions - even 50 years after they graduated.

Dr. Mae was known for being progressive and adaptable. Her forward-thinking style remains a key point in Pine Crest School's mission to prepare our students to not only recognize but create the growing list of new careers in our global marketplace.

Our ultimate goal is to ensure our students will learn how to navigate their futures with adaptability, sustainability, cultural sophistication, and independent leadership. As we carry forward our mission to educate the whole child, we continue to foster an educational environment that will honor our past, inform our present, and direct our future.

Please explore our website and visit our Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton campuses. I am confident you will understand why Pine Crest is an exceptional learning community that continues to serve and nurture our students and their families.

Sincerely,

Dana Markham, Ed.D.
President
